On Monday, Leicester Crown Court was told call records and information obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over the past two years.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a trip in Portugal - is considered the most widely reported child disappearance cases and remains unresolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

Another phone message, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt stating: "I understand I'm heavy and not pretty like Madeleine had been, but I believe what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "Imagine there is a tiny probability that I am she? What then? Is that not significant for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a life here in Poland, I only wish to understand," the recording stated.

The panel was informed that through emails, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a genetic test, sent early photographs to her phone in a bid to show a likeness to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and stated to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an intelligence analyst with Leicestershire Police who gathered the information, advised the court there "seemed to lack any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also communicated with family friends of the McCanns, based on the phone records.

On October 9th, 2024, the father answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I will continue and I will prove my claim."

The court learned Mrs Spragg established a relationship online with Ms Wandelt before accompanying her on a appearance to the McCanns' residence in the county in last December.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had contacted through messaging service to Mrs McCann to state the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she ought to be treated respectfully in the time leading up to the visit to Rothley, the county, in that winter.

The court learned communications between the two accused, in November 2024, considering endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's genetic material from her bins or from silverware at a restaurant.

"We have to take action," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the trip to their residence, Mrs Spragg sent a text which expressed: "We're currently sitting adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our vehicle dark resembling private investigators. I had hoped to achieve this with another person I hadn't anticipated I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The case proceeds.
