FC Barcelona Ready for Historic Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in La Liga 30 months following their departure for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans can be present as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium in early November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
