Fast bowler Atkinson Adds to England's Injury Problems.

'Serious blow' for the touring side as Atkinson goes off suffering a hamstring problem.

The English seamer increased England's injury problems after leaving the playing area on the second morning of the fourth Ashes Test against Australia.

The right-arm seamer felt a problem in his hamstring immediately following a delivery in his spell at the MCG.

The touring camp reported Atkinson had experienced "tightness" and was to take time off the field for further assessment "in the coming hours".

The concluding match in this Ashes battle beginning on 4 January starts at the end of the week.

England have previously lost key quicks Mark Wood to a knee injury and Jofra Archer because of a side injury on the current trip.

Matthew Fisher was added to the party as injury reinforcement.

The seamer had a tough time during the first two matches, claiming a mere a handful of scalps.

He was dropped from the previous Test, only to be brought back for the Melbourne Test as Archer's replacement.

The county bowler improved at the MCG, bagging two scalps during the host's first knock, and scoring 28 runs as a batsman among just a trio of teammates to get into double digits.

Following a brief spell late on the first day, he returned on Saturday morning and dismissed the nightwatchman Scott Boland caught behind.

However, towards the conclusion of that over, he bowled a slower ball to Travis Head and immediately felt at his leg.

The English bowler was recalled for the Boxing Day Test having missed the Adelaide game.
