Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a former physician has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
