The author

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
